Question:
Hello, I have a 2002 Freightliner MT45, retired postal van from California, I would like to wire in a trailer connector, 7 or 4 or possible combo unit, this vehicle has separate brake and turn signal wires. I can send pics of wires and workshop manuals standard wire color coding. Will i need a wiring converter, or is that already part of the 7 pole system? thanks for the help.

There are a couple of things you will need in order to add a 7-way trailer connector to your 2002 Freightliner, starting with a 4-way you will need to hardwire in, the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness with Installation Kit # 119250KIT.
This does come with a converter which allows it to be used with your 3-wire system so you're good to go there. The other part you will need to complete your set up is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7.
This has the rest of the parts needed, including a 7-way connector that also has a 4-way plug-in option so you can tow a trailer with either a 7-way or 4-way connector. I have added links below to video reviews for you to check out as well.
