is there any tailgate assist that will work both down and up?

For your 2017 Ram 1500 we have the Hopkins EasyLift part # 74211 as a fit which will help make lowering and lifting considerably easier. This will make a 30-40 lb tailgate feel like it weighs or 4 to 7 lbs.
