The Demco Base Plate Kit, part # DM9518050, is a correct fit for all models of the 2000 CR-V. I have linked the installation instructions on this page for you.

Flat-towing a vehicle requires several components; these are outlined in the attached FAQ article. These include base plates, tow bar, safety cables, tow lights for the CR-V and usually a supplemental braking system. You will want to check state/local laws concerning flat towing a vehicle to ensure you are in compliance with all requirements. I have also attached an FAQ article concerning supplementary braking systems.

A suitable tow bar for the Demco base plates is the Excali-Bar III # DM9511013. This fits into the 2 x 2 inch motor home receiver and connects to the base plates on the CR-V. This tow bar offers independent arms that make hookup easier on uneven ground. Safety cables are included as well.

Next you will need tow lighting for your CR-V. The simplest solution is the magnetic type, which are easily installed and removed without modifying your vehicle, such as the Custer Magnetic Towing Light Kit, part # RM-2120. This kit includes a 20-foot cord and 4-pole flat connector. If you RV uses a different connector just let us know and we can recommend an appropriate choice.

Last we have the supplementary braking system that sits in your towed CR-V. The Stay-IN-Play DUO, part # SM99251, is one of our favorites around here. It requires a complete install which is kind of lengthy but once that's over with you just flip a switch to activate it when you're ready to tow.
