2008 4 Runner Sport Rhino Rack Roof Rack Options

Question:
My 2008 4 Runner has a factory roof rack with 2” round side rails. I believe this was an option available only on the Sport. It is not convenient as many rail mount accessories will not mount on these oversized side rails. I would really like to unbolt the whole thing and start over. Is there a version of these rhino tracks that would work with my 4 Runner? I really like the rhino rack platform and some of their accessories which bolt onto this platform. Any other suggestions? Thanks!!

Hello Howard.
If you're planning on removing your roof rack completely you will need to drill into your roof to install another type of rack. The Rhino-Rack RT Style Roof Tracks # RRRTS502F will give you a lot of options for roof racks once installed. You will need to get the # RLTP Legs and of course the bars of your choosing. You could get the Rhino Rack HD Bars # RB1650B-2 or a Pioneer Platform Rack # RR27AP. These will mount directly to the RLTP feet.
If it were me, I would 100% go with the platform as it looks SO GOOD on a 4Runner and like you said, there are a lot of attachments that can mount to it.
