Auto Slider Fifth Wheel Hitch for 2020 Ford F-150 5-1/2 ft Bed

Question:

I am wondering if a pivot pin box would be a better option saving some weight in the bed with a normal 5th wheel hitch, since I would like to remove it when not in use. I have air bags (Airlift 5000 pound) on the truck. The fifth wheel is a Grand Design 28BH. Lippert 1621

We only have on auto slider fifth wheel hitch that slides far enough to be used in a 5-1/2 foot bed like what you have with your 2020 Ford F-150 and that's the Demco Hijacker part # DM8550040 which is a 13k slider that moves back 22-1/2 inches.

We don't have an underbed rail kit that fits your truck so you'd need the custom install kit part # RP50087-58.

A Sidewinder would be an excellent option. It would save weight, allow you to use a less complicated hitch setup and allows the trailer to track better behind the vehicle. Since you have a Lippert 1621 pin box you'd want the part # RP34FR with a fixed hitch like part # RP30047 and you'd be set. You can use the Reese rail kit I mentioned as well.
