I contacted the hitch manufacturer directly and confirmed that the best hitch available for your 1997 Ford F-250 HD 4WD is the Draw-Tite # 41004. You might also consider an accessory like the Draw-Tite QSP # 63080 to protect your receiver tube and reduce rattle while in use.
