Question:
Im looking to use the Stealth class 3 hitch SH77FR on my 2020 Volvo XC40 as well as a the Maxxtow aluminium motorcycle carrier e56UR. The XC40s manufacturer states the tongue weight limit is 350lb, the hitch Sh77Fr says 350 but the motorcycle carrier e56UR says that it is 400 lbs.. what is the correct tongue limit to use when evaluating whether this setup will be able to safely carry a 290lb bike?

With any flat towing setup your overall weight capacity is only as strong as it's weakest components. So while the etrailer motorcycle carrier # e56UR says it can carry 400 pounds, your 2020 Volvo XC40 has the lower capacity so you would be limited to 350 lbs of tongue weight like you mentioned.
So since the etrailer Aluminum Motorcycle Carrier part # e56UR weighs 50 lbs you'd have enough capacity to carry your bike that weighs 290 lbs.
