Question:

I have a 2012 Jeep Liberty and have yet to purchase crossbars in order to mount a roof basket. When I cross that bridge what type of roof basket would work best for me. We are moving cross country and I have later plans of installing a bike rack or two as well. Between the Yakima Loadwarrior or Megawarrior and Thule MOAB, which would you recommend for me and give me the best fit?

The type of crossbars you get are going to play a factor in choosing a basket. If you plan on getting the factory or dealer crossbars then the Thule MOAB, # TH690, Yakima LoadWarrior, # Y07070, and MegaWarrior, # Y07080, will all fit.

If you go with Yakima round bars then the best fit will be the LoadWarrior or MegaWarrior. The smaller LoadWarrior will be a better fit for the length of the roof on the Liberty. If you do end up wanting a longer basket you could always add the extension to the LoadWarrior, # Y07074, at a later time.

If you go with Thule square bars then the MOAB will be the best fit.
