Question:
I have a BMW X3 2021 equipped with factory trailer hitch and connector with +12V, ground, brake trigger and out to brakes leads. I discussed wireless controllers earlier, but like the sure fire connectivity of a wired controller - plus I do not like idea of hazard flashers interfering with brake performance. I would like to install RADARC Pro Elite. Do you see a problem with that.

The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller part # RED44FR will work on a 2021 BMW X3. It will have to be completely hardwired which can be done using the Wiring Kit part # 5506. This entails running a battery charge line and brake output wire from the trailer connector into the cab. Then you must run power and ground wires from the brake controller to the battery followed up with a stop light switch wire which must be spliced into the circuit above the pedal. The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller is an excellent option and one of the most advanced brake controller on the market.
If you have a model which is pre-wired for a brake controller, the four brake controller connections will be under the dash.
