Why would the blinker not work after installing trailer wiring trailer light work

I would revisit the installation, and make sure the connection where the harness plugs into the rear of the passenger side taillight housing has been plugged in all the way. Unplug the connection, then re connect it. The plug should fit into place with an audible click when fully seated in its connector.
I've linked to the installation instructions, in case you need to look them over again.
The connector is a fit for a 2015-2018 Ford Edge.
