Question:

Hi I have a late model Ford Edge equipped with the trailer tow package option. Im looking for a trailer to transport a 10 and a 12 foot kayak. Additionally, at other times, Ill want to transport 8,10, and 12 foot long pieces of lumber with widths up to 4 foot at a total weight load of approximately 500 lbs. Do you have a trailer that can meet both these requirements?

We have do have trailer that will allow you to transport your kayaks, and transport lumber if needed behind your 2018 Ford Escape.

The Malone MicroSport Trailer - 78" Crossbars # MPG460G will accomidate kayaks or canoes up to 20' long, and the crossbars have maximum weight capacity of 500lbs. The great part about these crossbars is they are 78" wide to give you plenty of space for two kayaks and will allow you to add and removed a kayak carrier as needed. The crossbars also offer strap down points to allow you to secure your kayaks or lumber.

For a great kayak carrier I recommend adding two of the etrailer J-Style Kayak Carrier # e98878

The Malone MicroSport Trailer # MPG460G requires a 2" hitch ball. From my research your 2018 Ford Escape With Tow Package has a 2x2 trailer hitch receiver so I recommend adding the etrailer ball mount kit # 989900 which offers two ball mounts offering 3/4" rise/2" drop or 2 3/4" rise/4" drop, a 1 7/8" and 2" hitch ball, two hitch pins and clips, and a carrying case.
