Recommended Roof Rack System and Kayak Carrier for my 2019 Acura ILX

Question:

Hi, I have a 2019 Acura ILX Aspex and I’m looking for a roof rack that I can put a kayak on top of my vehicle. I want something that can be a perfect fit for my vehicle and won’t damage my roof. I’m going to be using it on the high way going Atleast 65 mph. I’m willing to spend a bit of money on it. I don’t want to get anything cheap. The kayak will weigh about 80-90 pounds. Thank you

For your 2019 Acura ILX the Yakima Roof Rack System which uses 50" Yakima Jetstream Crossbars # Y00425, Towers # Y28TR, and Fit Kit # Y06180 and # Y06125. This option has 50" of useable crossbar space and 165lb load rating. Yakima is one of the leading roof rack manufacturers and their system uses adjustments in the legs to give the crossbars more of a custom fit than a lot of other options out there.

If you do not yet have your kayak carrier the etrailer J-Style Kayak Carrier part # e98878 is my favorite. It folds down when not in use, comes with all of the tie downs necessary and it can conform to many hull shapes.
