Question:
Two snow chain questions. I have a 2019 BMW 330xi Wagon F31 with M Sport Handling Package =10mm lower ground clearance, 225/45-18 fronts, 255/40-18 rears. The owners manual says nothing about snow chains/cables. The dealer says that they cannot provide specs for chains/cables that fit. Usage of chains will be limited California car 1 what chain/cables do you recommend that will clear the wheel well and not damage the rims? 2 this car has all wheel drive. I want to purchase one pair of chains. Do you recommend I purchase a pair sized for the front or the back? Thanks much

For vehicles with limited clearance like yours we have a really great option with the Konig K-Summit chains as they are only option that do not drape over the inner sidewall of the tire at all. This is the best low-clearance tire chain option that provides much better traction than cables, installs easier, and lasts much longer as the cables are typically one-time-use. For your tire size of 225/45-18 the correct K-Summit is part # th02230k34.
You'd want to put the chains on the primary drive axle if you are only going with one set which in your case would be the front axle.
