Compatibility of Solar Battery Generator with DC to DC Charger

Question:

Hello, Im thinking of buying a Redarc dc-to-dc charger to charge my portable battery Bluetti ac200 Similar to Goal Zero 1000 while driving. Do you think its doable or have any knowledge of others doing this while van camping? Thanks!

The Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Dual Input - DC to DC - 12V/24V - 25 Amp # 331-BCDC1225D will work very well with solar panels, but I'm not sure how it would improve the charging that is already integrated into your solar power generator. The generator could be directly connected to your trailer battery. I don't have any knowledge of your battery generator or it's ability to maintain a trailer battery, so that may be a differentiating point.

The BCDC kit is designed to turn solar power into trailer battery charging and maintaining as well as drawing and amplifying power from the alternator of your vehicle while driving. This being utilized in sequence would make sure your power was regulated and you wouldn't deplete the trailer battery to match the generator battery level.
