Question:
What is the amp rating on each contact for the Curt 7-Way RV-Style Trailer Connector - Vehicle End Item # C58155, and matching connectorPollak Black Plastic, 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector - Trailer End Item # PK12706. I am planning on using these connectors to wire a 12VDC 13 amp rated horn system on my boat, so not wiring to lights but to a horn. trying too find a waterproof covered connection when the items are separated. Ill create a cap for the trailer plug, but the vehicle end has a nice pairing loaded cover already. If you have a better idea on how to keep the items dry from moisture once they are separated, that is what I need. It doe snot need to be watertight when connected although that would bench too.

Hello Jameson, I’m looking at installing a 12v to 12v 30 amp DC Victron Orion non-isolated unit in my camper. I have a seven pin connector on my Tahoe. Even through the 7 pin is rated for 40 amps there are some thermal characteristics associated with that rating. The 40 amps is peak amps rating, do you know the sustained amperage? If I’m using 30 amps I’m pushing the envelope and and may need to run a separate power wire and ground wire. Do you know the sustained amperage?
