Will this hitch be compatible with my 1998 Sable dual-exhaust model? None of the pictures or installation instructions mention this specific model.

I spoke with my contact at the manufacturer to make sure there were no issues with the factory dual exhaust on the 1998 Sable and found that you should have no trouble installing the hitch on your vehicle. You will need to temporarily lower the rear exhaust though. The installation instructions (see link) are clear and easy to follow.
In addition to the hitch, you might also need the following to complete your towing set-up:
Trailer Wiring Harness, # C55343 if you have the wagon and # HM40565 if you have the sedan.
Ball mount Kit # EBMK4
