What side should be up when ramp is open on the trailer, ribe side or flat side

I'd put the rib side up on the 3" Wide Continuous Steel Hinge # H300 if for no other reason it would allow you easier access to cleaning and lubricating the hinge. It will work in either orientation but with rib up you'd have easier access.
