Can I Use a Rhino Rack Hi-Lift Jack/Shovel Mount on Yakima HD Crossbars

We conducted a test using the Yakima HD Crossbars # Y01156 and # Y01157, and the Rhino Rack Hi-Lift Jacks # RR43157. I have attached links to these products.

I had these parts ordered from the warehouse and sent to our Installer with substantial experience with these products to test fit these for you. In his report he said, "The answer is yes - kind of. The shim will fit into the T-track channel and mount to the bar, BUT the piece of metal that the Shovel Holder uses is rectangular, which means the holder can only face parallel to the bar as it is mounted. Since the Pioneer Platform has T-track channels on the outside edge that run front to back, it functions nicely. The Yakima bars ( and most roof bars in general ) mount perpendicular to the cars body , so the T-track channels runs left to right. This would mean that if they mounted the Shovel Holder to the Yakima bars, the shovel would be mounded across the body instead of how it is pictured on its product page."

So if you don't mind your shovel, jack, or other mounted tool running across the vehicle then it will work. If you want the tool running from front to back, then no.
