Question:

I have an American Roll bed cover on my 2018 Chevy Silverado. Would the base rails that install used expanding rubber block fit with out have to by a new bed cover. How secure is this attachment using expanding rubber blocks in the post holes

If your cover mounts to the inside of the bed rails and not on top it shouldn't interfere, however I have not tested this exact combination so I can't confirm if it will work. The main thing that will cause any kind of interference is if the cover is mounted to the outside, or top of the bed rails. The Thule TracRac does use base rails that mount to the truck's bed rails, and provides a T-track or channel for the uprights to slide back and fourth on.

The complete system is rated for 1,250 lbs, but the rails don't specifically have a rating to them since they are attached to the truck's bed rails. The expanding rubber blocks do provide a solid attachment point. Not only is the expansion holding it in place, but the weight of the rack and load is also holding the base rails down.

If you have the 6 1/2' on your Silverado the Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack # TH43002XT-781 is confirmed to fit. If you have a 8' bed # TH43002XT-780 is confirmed to fit. For the 5 1/2' bed # TH43002XT-782 is confirmed to fit.

You can check out the TracRac in the review video I attached.
