Recommended Crossbar Length for Rhino-Rack Vortex Rack for Retrax Pro XR series Tonneau Cover

Question:

Im considering the Rhino-Rack system for my 2019 Ram 1500 Limited with a Retrax Pro XR series bed cover. I know the Rhino model with 71inch bars is recommended for my truck, but my Retrax tracks are 62.25inch apart on center and I dont want to have the bars extending nearly 4.5inch past the Rhino-Rack legs on each side. Is there any reason I cant use the system with the 65inch bars?

According to Rhino Rack, if you were to go with the shorter bars, you'll only have 1-1/4 inch of leeway on each side which isn't enough in their opinion. I'd recommend going with the 71 inch bars so you'll be certain of a good fit. As you can see in the provided photo showing the rack installed on a Ram truck, the overhang on either side fits the proportions of the truck and won't protrude past the widest part of the truck bed so you really won't need to be concerned about it looking weird.
