A complete flat towing setup consists of base plates, tow bar, tow bar wiring, safety cables, supplemental braking and a high/low adapter (if needed). You will also want to check your vehicle's owner's manual to confirm that your 2007 Chevy Impala is safe to flat tow, as there are some models that can be damaged by doing this.

For starters, tow bars are compatible with their baseplates only (without an adapter) so I recommend using the Blue Ox # BX1670, which are compatible with the Blue Ox Aladin tow bar. You'll also need safety cables like the Roadmaster # RM-643 which I like because they're coiled and won't drag on the ground behind you.

For wiring, I recommend using the Roadmaster # RM-15267 which will splice into your vehicle's wiring in conjunction with your RV's and will prevent feedback that may be potentially damaging. You will also need to use the Brake Light Relay # RM-88400 to allow this to be used with a supplemental braking system.

Supplemental braking is required on flat towed vehicles in most states and provinces, and the supplemental braking system I recommend using the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR, which will provide proportional braking for your toad in a portable system that's easy to install and remove.

You may also need a high/low adapter, so I've linked a helpful article on how to measure for the correct high/low adapter, as well as linked our entire selection.
