Is there a Way to Install a 2-5/16 Ball Coupler on a 2 Inch Wide Straight Trailer Tongue
Updated 10/25/2016 | Published 10/24/2016 >
Question:
I purchased an older truck to pull a very small ATV trailer. The truck has a 2 5/16 ball that is rusted in and we cant get of even using an air impact hammer drill. So I thought I would just put a different coupler on the trailer. Having a hard time finding a straight 2 inch channel coupler in 2 5/16, any thoughts ?

The 2-5/16 inch straight tongue couplers are going to fit a 3 inch channel. Your best bet is still removal of the ball on the truck. My recommendation is a whole lot of penetrating oil and a sledge hammer. You won't have to whack it very hard but the lateral force will help free it up.
The only other option is to use a channel such as # BDAC3000300. Weld it to the front of the trailer and then use a channel coupler, # PSA256S0303, which will couple to a 2-5/16 inch ball. I have linked videos of both of these parts for you.
