What is the towing capacity for my 2012 Chevy Equinox

In my research, I found that the towing capacity for models with the 2.4L 4 cylinder engine is 1500 lbs, while models equipped with the 3.0L 6 cylinder engine have a 3500 lb towing capacity.
I've confirmed this information with the owner's manual.
