Recommended 26 Inch Double Eye Springs for 1-1/2 Inch Square Axle Compatibility

Question:

Could this work with an 1 1/2” square tube axle? My current leaf springs are shot.

The 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles - 26" Long # e94SR are way to strong a spring for your 1-1/2 inch square axle. Typically 1-1/2 inch square axles have a capacity between 1000 and 2000 lbs.

I recommend instead using the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles - 26" Long # e77SR which will match the standard capacity without making the ride too firm adding to bounce. Don't worry about the number or leaves but rather the capacity rating. I also recommend the CE Smith U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 1-1/2" Square Trailer Axles - 3-3/8" Long U-Bolts - Zinc # CE23102.
