Yes, the hands free lift gate sensor will still be operational with a trailer hitch installed on a 2020 Honda Pilot. That said, you'd need to place your foot on either side of the receiver tube opening. I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98840 as the best option. It has a hidden design and an attractive black matte finish. I installed this hitch myself (video below) and found it to have the best overall fit.
