Hitch For 2009 AUdi A4 with Best Ground Clearance Backing Out of Driveway
Updated 06/08/2020 | Published 06/04/2020 >
Question:
How much clearance is lost when adding a X7389 to a 2009 a4? I want to check if that will make it possible to get in and out on my drive way with the hitch on my car or the bike rack attached to it.

The hitch opening of the EcoHitch part # 306-X7389 that you referenced is going to fit right under the rear bumper of your 2009 Audi A4 so the amount of ground clearance you'll lose will be right at 2-1/2 inches down the center of the vehicle. The big advantage this hitch has for your situation is that only the hitch opening hangs below the bumper which helps when backing and turning out of a driveway. Normally if a hitch is going to drag in this situation it will be on the side since one side of the vehicle dips down as you are backing out.
