Question:

Good Morning, I am attempting to locate a cargo rack for the rear trailer hitch on my SUV, that will also hold surf fishing rods. As of yet no luck - surprisingly. Any suggestions on where to look? Thank You!

I have a solution for you, but to my knowledge there is not a rear cargo carrier of that size available that you could use. If the rods come apart into 2 or more pieces, you might be able to use a hitch mounted cargo carrier like the Yakima Swinging Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Trailer Hitch # Y62VR. This carrier has 51-11/16" length of internal storage, so your rods would need to break down to less than that length in order for this to work.

The best solution would be to add a roof rack and something like the Yakima ReelDeal # Y04089, which is a great solution for carrying fishing rods on top of your vehicle. If you can tell me more about the year, make and model SUV you've got, I'm happy to help you locate a roof rack solution that would allow you to mount the ReelDeal and carry your surf fishing rods.
