What Size Bunk Rollers Should I Use to Repalce 6 foot Long Bunk Boards on Pontoon Boat Trailer

Updated 05/28/2020 | Published 05/23/2020

Question:

I have a 24 ft pontoon trailer with carpeted 2x6 bunks. Do you recommend the 4 ft or the 5 ft rollers to install on the front of the bunks? Also would it be better to put them on top of the bunk or remove the wood section of the bunks where the rollers will be installed? If I put the rollers on top, will the rollers hold the toons up off the 2x6 bunk enough to bend or damage them during transport? Please give part # for recommended rollers. Thanks.

In order to install the Dutton Lainson # DL21741 you will want to remove your existing bunk boards and use the DL21741 to replace them; you don't want to leave the old bunk boards on. I do recommend using the 5ft long rollers that you were looking at, since those are closer to the existing size of your bunk boards and will fit much better in that space, while providing enough support for your pontoon boat.

If you want or need to replace the existing bunk brackets and bolts, you may want to consider the Boat Trailer Roller Bunk Bracket # DL21742 and U-bolts like # CE15283GA.
