Question:

Hello, 2017 VW The Beetle Classic 1.8T 5sp would the Curt #c113542 and Bike rack # HR200Z be appropriate for this hard top coupe? I notice restriction for R-line and GSR model. Not sure what they are.

Yes the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11354 will work great on your 2018 Volkswagon Beelte 1.8T. The R-Line and the GSR models are models which have a configuration different that the standard models. Most times it comes down to differences in exhaust and rear bumper panels nit allowing for a proper fit.

The Hollywood Racks Trail Rider 2 Bike Platform Rack part # HR200Z would work well with this hitch and vehicle combo. It weighs in at about 37 lbs. plus two bikes weighing under the 45 lb per bike capacity will keep you well within the limits of the hitch at 200 lbs. Just check your owner's manual to see what your car is rated for and do not exceed that. You would also need a support strap # 18050.
