Recommended Roof Rack for Leer 122 High Rise Truck Cap

Question:

I have a leer 122 hi rise canopy on the back of my 2005 access cab Tacoma. What roof rack do you recommend? I do not need the towers to be moveable.

You were on the right track with the Thule TracRac CapRac Ladder Rack for Camper Shell/Truck Cap # TH29200XT. The Leer 122 High Rise camper shell really isn't ideal for mounting a roof rack, because of the odd shape taking away probably 2 feet of space at the front of the cap, so you'll want to make sure you have 27-1/2" (center of front bar to center of rear bar) and 27-1/2" side to side to install these crossbars. As long as you've got the ability to space the bars and towers at this distance, it will be a good fit.

This rack installs by drilling directly into your Leer 122 High Rise camper shell and provides you with a ladder/roof rack system with 69" of bar space to carry accessories. You will need to use a silicone sealant like part # 0160297 during installation to make sure that there are no leaks into the truck bed.

If you find that you don't have this much space on the cap, let me know and I can see if we can find an alternate solution.
