Question:
New install, right blinker does not work on the 55323 wire harness flat 4. Using the flat 4 ground to vehicle. Tester on 55323 green running down to flat 4 works when using vehicle blinker neutral but not the flat 4 ground. everything else on 55323 works. Have the flat 4 grounded to vehicle chassis. Where’s the issue for right blinker? Note:using a tester directly in 55323 part. obviously same issue when trailer connected. 55323 on 2004 dodge dakota

Expert Reply:
The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 55323 likely has an issue at one of the connection points. I recommend using your circuit tester to make sure the function works correctly before connecting the harness at that connection location. If it works there, then I recommend cleaning the connections as best you can and using a little dielectric grease like # 11755. If the connections are good, and you have power at the point of connection for that function, then it sounds like there is a short in the harness. You can replace the harness or you can determine where the short is and splice in a wire. I don't recommend altering the harness in any other way.
