Updated 06/17/2020 | Published 05/11/2020

Question:

is it just a replacement for an existing ac unit or can I use it as a second unit in my RV and replace a roof dome window ? and what do I need mounting hardware - wise ? does it come with a remote control or how do I control it ?

The most powerful and quietest Ac unit is the Furrion Chill Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Furrion Setup - 15,000 Btu - White # FR42PV. The unit with the box versus ducts says it has an indoor 60 db level, and a ducted unit using the same motor and compressor should be just slightly under that.

The Furrion Chill # FACR15SA-PS mentioned above will work to replace an existing Furrion AC unit - it doesn't include the control box, remote, etc. For a complete setup you will need the Furrion Chill AC System # FR55PV.

@ChrisR this FR55PV can only cool , not heat , right ?

@Leo You're correct. The Furrion Chill # FR55PV does not include a heat pump or strip so it's only capable of cooling down the RV/trailer.

The Furrion Chill Basic RV Air Conditioner System - Single Zone # FR55PV will allow you to replace a standard vent and will give you all the adjustments you desire. It is a separate unit with its own box and thermostat. This is what it sounds like you will want and comes with all the installation hardware needed.
