Question:

I was going to purchase the Yakima JetStream Crossbars kit for my 2016 jeep grand charokee. I will mainly be using these to carry a kayak. However, when looking for kayak mounts it doesnt seem like there are very many that fit into a trackinch type mount. Am i mistaken? Is there a better system for carrying a kayak above? I also wasnt sure if they necessary materials for tying the kayak down behind and in front of the Jeep would be included with the mounts. Thanks!

The Yakima Jetsream Crossbar System is an excellent option for a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. If you have black and chrome side rails then you'll need part # Y00425, part # Y53TR, and part # Y00244. If you have all black side rails or a bare roof then you'll need part # Y00426, part # Y28TR, and part # Y06121.

In regards to kayak carriers, most do indeed use wrap-around mounts which wrap around the crossbars but there are some that mount inside the tracks. The Rhino-Rack Nautic 581 Rear Loading Kayak Carrier part # RR581 is a great option which mounts inside the channels. It comes with tie-downs but none for the bow and stern. That said, we do have these using the Rhino-Rack Anchor Straps part # RRRBAS-2.
