The best fifth wheel hitch for a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with 5-1/2' bed is the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # DM8550040 paired with the Demco Hijacker Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit part # DM8552034-71. The Demco Hijacker has a unique auto-sliding mechanism which will work to provide turning clearance while making sharp turns which would otherwise be an issue due to the short truck bed. The best part is you don't have to get in and out of the truck to do so. The Demco Hijacker also has a very secure locking jaw system which provides a secure connection and also helps to improve the ride quality by reducing chucking and jarring. The Custom Install Kit then provides a drill-free option for the truck frame.
The only other thing you'll need to complete your setup is an in-bed wiring harness, the Demco 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness part # DM8555002.
