Will Steering Wheel of 2007 Toyota Camry LXE on Tow Dolly Need to Be Locked
Published 03/31/2020 >
Question:
We are planning to dolly tow our 2007 Camry. Some have expressed to have the steering wheel unlocked. This is not a possibility unless the engine key is on. Is it necessary to have the steering wheel unlocked if on the dolly?

Helpful Expert Reply:
In order to keep the vehicle on the dolly stable and tracking properly behind the motorhome or vehicle doing the towing, you'll want to keep the towed vehicle's steering wheel locked at all times. This applies whether or not the tow dolly in question is 'self steering' or has a steer axle.
I've linked you to some demonstation/description videos featuring the Roadmaster # RM-2050-1 tow dolly you'd looked at.
