Question:

Installed the Tekonsha P3 in my 08 Chevy Silverado 2500HD, trying to bypass failed factory system. Installed per video, went smoothly but controller message NO TRAILER CONNECTED always appears. What is wrong??? Still Doesnt See Trailer Thank you

If the trailer is connected to the tow vehicle and the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 part # 90195 is still displaying "no trailer connected" that usually means the trailer side connector pins or the vehicle side plug has corrosion on the pins. If there is any rusted or bent pins then the trailer cannot get a good connection to the vehicle side and the brake controller does not recognize a power draw so it displays "trailer not connected". If you take a look at both connectors and see rust, you can lightly sand it off with a fine grit sandpaper. This is the most common reason why this troubleshooting error pops up. I also recommend to use some Dielectric Grease for Electrical Connectors part # 11755 to keep out moisture and debris at the connection point.

The Prodigy P3 is commonly used to bypass the integrated brake controller on the Chevy Silverado, if there was an issue with the bypass then you would have fault codes on the dash that would need to be cleared by the dealership. I recommend to take a look at your connections first and if you are still having issues please let me know.
