Updated 05/02/2025 | Published 03/26/2020

Question:

I recently installed a rvk 3600 in my ram dually with puck system. I would like to padlock opposing corners of the baseand the hitch lock-in jaw lever. I want to know the best way to do this. I have yet to find a video or any kind of self help tutorial.

I spoke with B&W about the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch like part # BWRVK3600 and they recommend using the Master Lock 1-9/16" Wide Solid Brass Body Padlock with 2" Shackle part # ML140DLH to lock the handles on the base and it can also be used to lock the jaw release handle. That said, you need to remove these locks and replace them with the original pins before towing.

@Zak Because the pins have been verified to handle any weight that may or may not be put on them, while the padlocks haven't been tested. Just more of a precaution that anything.
