Power Awning Replacement Solution for Camper with Dometic Mod # 8500

Question:
I need to know if the LC434729 18volt battery-operated awning conversion will work for a Dometic Mod #8500? As you can see in the picture the awning on this trailer is very high!!!! It makes it nearly impossible to deploy it unless you have a 6foot ladder. I would like to convert it to an electric one but I will have to do the work myself and need to know if the conversion is something I can handle. I am pretty mechanical enclined but dont want to do something that will destroy the awning we currently have.
