Question:

I have a 2011 Jeep Wrangler that I had the dealer install the Call of Duty MW3 Edition bumper on when I bought it new in 2012. it was on discount but I loved the CoD MW3 bumper, what can I say-I made a deal Do I need this base plate 1439-1 or the 1439-3? What is the difference? Can I use an adapter and use the D rings built into the bumper RM-035? I have already ordered and received the following: 1. A Pollak 6-Pole, Round Pin, Trailer Wiring Socket - Vehicle End - Item # PK11609 Before I install anything I want to make sure I have purchased all the right equipment.

So based on my research, the Call of Duty MW3 Edition bumper debuted with the 2012 model year, which is why there is no mention of fits for any base plates on a 2011 Jeep Wrangler with that bumper. Since the Jeeps are otherwise the same, it seems likely the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # 1439-3 will work, but there is just no way to guarantee it.

The d-ring adapters you added may be a better option so long as your bumper is rated by the manufacturer for flat towing, and it has the right dimensions. The Adapter for Jeep D-Ring Bumper Mounts # RM-035 will work if the shackles shown in your photo are 3/4" thick and have 7/8" or 1" diameter mounting holes.

The Adapter for Jeep D-Ring Bumper Mounts # RM-035-1 will work if your shackles are 1" thick and have 7/8" or 1" diameter mounting holes. In terms of thickness, think of it as the width of the shackles - you would be measuring them at the very front like in the accompanying photo.
