Do the Ground and Power Wires From First Brake Need to Go to the Same Wires on Second Brake

Question:
I have a tandem axle trailer with 1 axle having brakes. I understand it does not matter which brake wire gets power and which wire is ground. However, when running the “jumper” wire from one brake to the other brake, does the power/ground wires need to connect to the same wires from the brake as it is for the first brake connection?

Great question! For the second brake it does not matter which one is connected to your 12V power and which is connected to ground. Just like on the first brake that gets spliced into the main 7-way wiring, the wires on the second brake are interchangeable. One should be connected to power and the other to ground.
