Could Buyers Products Class 5 Hitch # 3371801050L Install with Mounting Brackets Horizontal
Updated 03/09/2020 | Published 03/08/2020 >
Question:
Is it possible to mount this hitch with the mounting plates horizontal vs vertical? This would allow the a weld across one entire length of 18-5/16” and one 9+\-“ on both plates. As well as a few bolts .

The Buyers Products Class 5 Service Body Hitch Receiver # 3371801050L that you referenced was intended to have the mounting brackets installed vertically. That said, this is a multi-fit semi-fabricated hitch solution for vehicles so there is some leeway in getting creative with how it installs. If you wanted to switch the position of the mounting brackets you'd be fine most likely but we couldn't guarantee you'd get the full towing capacity of the hitch.
