Question:
Hello, I would like to make sure this base plate will fit correctly on my 2001 small 2 door blazer before purchase. I have the Roadmaster Falcon 5250 tow bar. Also does this require drilling. Thank you.

According to Roadmaster, the # 161-1 is the correct base plate kit for the 2001 S-10 Blazer 2 door, as long as it is a 2 wheel drive and not an Xtreme model. No base plate kits are available for 4WD or Xtreme 2 door models. The 161-1 is compatible with your tow bar.
According to step # 4 and 6 of the install instructions, at least two and maybe three holes will need to be drilled to install the base plate kit.
Because some vehicles will require modifications before they can be flat towed, I would recommend contacting GM or consulting your owners manual before attempting to flat tow the vehicle. These modifications might include a transmission lube pump, drive line disconnect or free wheeling hubs.
