Does Pop and Lock Tailgate Lock for 2018 Toyota Tacoma Also Allow Key to Open Tailgate
Published 02/25/2020 >
Question:
I had 2 questions about the pop and lock system for the 2018 Tacoma. One can you still use the OEM key to unlock and lock the tailgate. Second, I was wondering how secure the pop and lock system was, I was wondering if it was still possible to operate the actuator without the key fob, or is there a security measure to prevent this from happening. Thanks for your help!

The Pop and Lock tailgate lock # PL54FR that you referenced will allow you to still use your truck's key to open the tailgate. It works like a vehicle's power lock setup. Either with the key fob or with a physical key.
If it's locked you aren't going to be able to open it unless you have either the vehicle key fob or the key. It's very secure in that way.
