Transmission and Power Steering Coolers for a 2010 Honda Odyssey

Updated 06/15/2012 | Published 06/13/2012

Question:

Hello, I just purchased a hitch and wire harness from your site to install on our 2010 Odyssey. Im now looking at Hondas requirements for their tow package. a. Tranny Cooler b. Power Steering Cooler c. Air duct 1. Your site recommends the D13503 ATF cooler and the D13212 PS cooler. Is this based on size and inlet type? Ive also seen a single unit capable of handling both ATF and PS. Would this not work in the Odyssey? 2. I dont see anything similar to the Honda air duct on your site. Any suggestions?

Transmission and power steering coolers are not vehicle specific, though sometimes some special fittings are needed. For your 2010 Honda Odyssey, you can use any transmission/power steering cooler that will fit in the engine compartment, see FAQ link.

You could also use a combination cooler which uses the same core for 2 systems. The Derale cooler, # D13302, would be a good choice with install kit # D12006.

The Air Duct that Honda refers to is something that gets mounted to the body of the vehicle to direct air flow to the cooler. This should not be required but what you could do for the maximum air flow over a cooler is to go with a remote cooler, see link, that has its own fan so it always gets the most air flow possible no matter where it is mounted. Or you could just get the air duct from Honda.

The only issue with a remote cooler is that you would need two because there are none that have dual inputs and outputs for two systems.
