Hi, Do i need to purchase and install the filter adapter D14010 to make a completed upgrade for the trans pain for my dodge? Thanks Derale part D14210 for Dodge ram 1500 5.7L Hemi 2004

The Derale Filter Extender, # D14010, is not required to complete the installation of the Transmission Pan Cooler, # D14210, on your 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi, but would be a good idea.
This extender is only required if you plan on doing off road or extreme driving where your truck may be driven at a 45 degree angle or more. It would be a good idea to install it if you can see yourself in a tricky, or tempting, off road situation.
