Question:

I need a roof rack for my 2020 Honda CR-V to carry my Kayak. My wife's thinking about taking it up as well, so I might need something expandable. I don't mind paying for quality, I hold onto my cars for at least 5 years, and I'd like this stuff to last at least the life of the car. My roof has the existing runners or rails running along the edges over the doors.

You can assemble an AeroBlade Edge rack using the following parts:

AeroBlade Edge Crossbars, part # TH7601-TH7602 (the TH7601 goes in the rear, the TH7602 in the front)
Vehicle Specific Fit Kit, part # THKIT3166

For a kayak carrier, the Rhino Rack J-Style carrier, part # S512 would be a great starting point. The carrier includes the all the needed tie down straps to attach the kayak to the carrier and the bow and sterns to the front and rear bumpers of the car. If your wife decides to join you, you can simply purchase an expansion kit, part # RRS512X that will allow you to carry an additional kayak without having to buy another carrier. The expansion kit also includes the needed straps.
