In order to install a trailer hitch on a 2020 Subaru Outback you will need to trim the rear lower bumper fascia but this is unavoidable and very minor because it cannot be seen from the outside of the vehicle. The amount of cutting will vary depending on which hitch you choose but if you are looking for the option with the least amount of trimming that would be the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C67JR. I have attached a photo of the required trimming for you but again this is very minor and not seen from outside the vehicle. The trimming is required because of the hidden design which aids in both aesthetics and ground clearance.
