Question:

I have a 2020 Nissan Rogue, and I'd like to add a roof rack so I can carry 2 kayaks. There's currently nothing on my roof. What do you recommend? What will fit? I don't mind spending the money for a quality rack, but not if all I'm paying for the name only.

I completely understand about the paying for the big name thing. Rhino Rack offers roof rack systems that are less expensive than the better known Thule or Yakima brands, but are on the same level quality-wise. You definitely can spend a little less and walk away without thinking you've compromised anything.

I'd recommend a Rhino Rack Vortex Aero roof rack, as the elliptical crossbars are much more quiet than square crossbars. The rack can be constructed of the following parts:

Vehicle Specific Clamp Kit, part # DK396

For carrying the kayaks, I'd recommend a J-Style carrier like # S512. When the # RRS512X expansion arm kit is added, you'll be able to carry both your kayaks. The straps to secure the kayaks to the roof rack and the bow/stern tie downs are also included.
