Question:

I have an Atwood model number GC10-1E I cant seem to find a direct replacement and I dont know the proper questions to ask. Is there a direct replacement? Is it gas only or gas/electric? If no direct replacement, what is closest? Thank you.

I reached out to my contact at Atwood/Dometic and she said that the closest option available to replace your GC10-1E model water heater is the Atwood RV Water Heater # AT94022. Like your existing unit, this is a gas/electric heater that features a 10 gallon capacity tank.

I asked my contact about the ease of this particular swap and she said it's really going to be pretty close to a direct replacement in terms of installation. There may be two additional wires that need to be connected that aren't present on your existing model. The Double-Panel On/Off Switch part # AT91230 will allow you to power the electric and gas components on and off individually. It mounts in your coach for easy operation. The Replacement Door part # AT91385 will protect the components.
