How can you test if the switch is working?

I contacted Lippert and their guidance for testing the Lippert Components Ignition Proof 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Switch w/Harness # LC145236 is to use a voltmeter to verify power is getting to the motor. Test for power both before and after the switch. If you have power before the switch but not after, then the switch is bad. You will want to make sure the switch is on when testing.
If you have power after the switch then the switch is good but if you don't have power before the switch, it is likely another cause.
Unhook shore power, solar panels, have no generator running and connected to truck. Then test using rocker switch back and forth. Verify battery
